Borealis operates from a fundamental belief that the best way to insure our returns as investors is to do all that we can to help our companies and their founders succeed. We are active partners to founding teams and hope to work with entrepreneurs who appreciate and value that approach. We work closely with them, every day. We identify challenges early and develop relationships of trust with founders that allow us to attack issues frankly. If we learn anything new in a formal board meeting, then we don’t feel we’ve been successful.

Borealis is usually the first institutional investor in our portfolio companies. We also strive to be more engaged and active than other investors. Sector expertise and the networks that we have developed over years in an industry segment allow us to play a meaningful role in validating market opportunities, recruiting management team members, establishing commercial partnerships, and accelerating the growth of the business.
